Acupuncture and Its Types
Each needle is a message to the body: “you are whole and capable. You can heal.“
Acupuncture is a versatile TCM therapy used to treat a wide range of conditions, including pain management, stress, digestive disorders, women’s health issues, and neurological conditions. It also supports overall wellness and balance in the body.
Traditional Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a practice that involves inserting thin needles into specific points along meridians on the body, which are pathways of Qi to flow and to promote healing and restore balance.
Electro Acupuncture
Electro acupuncture involves attaching small electrical currents to the needles. It is often used to treat conditions like muscle spasms, arthritis, and certain neurological disorders.
Moxa Acupuncture
Moxa acupuncture involves the burning of moxa (moxibustion, made from dried mugwort) near or on specific acupoints. It is often used to treat cold or deficiency to warm the body.
Ear Acupuncture
Ear (Auricular) acupuncture applies needles, seeds, or small beads to acupoints on the ear. These points are similar to a microsystem, where the ear reflects the entire body.
Acupuncture is often used as a standalone therapy or combined with other TCM therapies such as cupping, moxa (moxibustion), tui na massage or herbs in a comprehensive way.
